Small spaces are no issue with the new Milwaukee Right Angle Impact Wrench. Milwaukee Tool never ceases to amaze us when they keep sneaking new tools into their lineup throughout the year.

Milwaukee Right Angle Impact Wrench Features

Due out in June 2020, these new Milwaukee right angle impact wrenches will be available in 3/8″ and 1/2″ drive. You can also get each in a friction-ring or detent anvil. Model numbers are 2564 for the 3/8″ and 2565 for the 1/2″ model. These right angle impacts are powered off Milwaukee’s M12 FUEL platform, hence the brushless motors combined with the lithium-ion batteries deliver up to 220 ft-lbs of nut-removing torque.

“When completing applications that allow limited access, professionals are limited to using pneumatic or brushed-motor right angle impacts. However, the limited portability and torque associated with these solutions has been a frustration for these users,” said Eric Rusch, Group Product Manager for Milwaukee Tool. “Due to our extensive research with users on the jobsite and in the shop, we saw an opportunity to create a cordless solution that not only boasts the benefits of no compressors, hoses, and routine maintenance, but is also equipped with a low-profile design and higher torque to tackle these types of applications.”

The new Milwaukee Right Angle Impact Wrench looks a lot like their Milwaukee M12 FUEL cordless Ratchets. However, the head of the new right-angle impact looks much different. Even with the need for and impact-mechanism, the head is only 2.8-inches thick. This allows access to some pretty tight places, and putting some muscle to the fastener, without much muscle.

Milwaukee 2564 and 2565 Drive Control

Not only do you get 220 ft-lbs at the tip of your finger, but the M12 Right Angle Impact wrenches also include 4 mode controls. Three different modes limit the rpm and power delivered to the fastener. The 4th mode actually includes an automatic shut-off that keeps you from over-tightening critical fasteners. The bolt removal feature is also included that slows the impact down once the fastener is broke-free.

Our Thoughts

These new M12 right angle impact wrenches are a great addition to the Milwaukee line of mechanics tools. Also, this really solidifies their foothold in the cordless impact wrench arena. We’re not sure of another company with this wide array of cordless impact products. At first glance, I do wish that Milwaukee would have included a paddle switch instead of the trigger. Who knows, I may change my mind once I use it. We’re looking forward to getting one in our shop for testing and following up with a full review.
