Feeling the cool yet? Us neither, but that didn’t stop Milwaukee Tool from releasing their new line of M12 Heated Axis Layering System and updated jackets. Layering offers flexibility and versatility for different environments, such as rain, snow, and even extreme cold.

Milwaukee M12 Heated Axis Layering System Options

The M12 Heated Axis Jacket is the primary heating source, powered by the M12 Lithium-Ion battery.  Adding an outer shell provides additional protection for the needs at hand. Originally released in 2018, the new M12 Heated Axis jacket is available in Black and the new Olive Green. These new M12 jackets provide your desired heat level up to 3X faster.

Milwaukee Hydrobreak Rain Shell

The new Hydrobreak rain shell or the Gridiron work shell fits over the top of the Axis jacket. With the Hydrobreak rain shell, you get a 100% waterproof outer layer, keeping you dry and warm. Furthermore, you get abrasion resistance made from ripstop polyester, and a polyurethane laminate provides 10K mm waterproofness. A velcro flap covers the front zipper, pocket and cuffs for additional protection from the elements. You also get an extended back (much like a powder-skirt on a ski jacket) and a standing collar with an adjustable hood. Finally, the Hydrobreak Rain Shell can be worn as a standalone windbreaker/rain-coat.

Milwaukee Gridiron Work Shell

Adding the Gridiron work shell to the M12 Heated Axis jacket prepares you for extreme conditions. Milwaukee claims 3-times the durability with 25% less bulk. The Gridiron work shell includes 60G insulation in the body and 40G insulation for the sleeves. You get pass-thru access to all the heat controls of the M12 Heated Axis Jacket. The same is true for the Hydrobreak rain shell as well.

Milwaukee M12 Heated Toughshell Jackets

This stretch polyester is a durable outer layer resistant to wind and water and lasts up to 5X longer. You can get the Toughshell in Gray, Black, Realtree Edge Camo, and Red.

M12 Women’s Heated Softshell Jacket

The Milwaukee M12 women’s offering is expanded and redesigned in the M12 Women’s Heated Softshell Jacket. First, a better fit can be expected from resizing and the softshell includes carbon fiber heating elements that heat the back, collar, and front pockets. The quilted softshell traps heat in and provides wind and water resistance.

Our Thoughts

Well, it may be the middle of Summer, especially here in Central Florida, but we still like all the options with the new M12 Heated Axis Layering System. Maybe we’ll get our hands…and arms, and body…in one of these new jackets soon. We’ll follow up with a full review.
