Sunex Tools SXMC12 1/2″ Super Duty Impact Wrench is less than 5 inches deep and packs up to 550 lb-ft of loosening torque. At less than $120 and a 2-year warranty, this is a great addition to any mechanic’s tool box. We not only performed bench testing, but we also used the super duty Sunex mini impact wrench on engine parts and large truck lug nuts.

Sunex Mini Impact Wrench Features

Weighing in at only 3.2 pounds, the Sunex mini impact wrench was quite easy to carry around. Ergonomics is big around our shop, and we also believe heavily in using the right tool for the right job. If our job consists of light duty work, then why should we carry around an impact rated for 1,000 lb ft.?! If we can accomplish 80% of our work with a tool like the Sunex mini impact wrench, then we finish the day with much less fatique.

The compact design of the Sunex SXMC12 is perfect for tight spaces, even if the fastener needs a lot of power. With up to 550 ft-lbs of fastener-removing torque, you have the air power in the palm of your hand. The forward and reverse control can be operated with one hand. Depressing the plunger on the rear, with the thumb, for forward, as well as depressing the plunger on the front, with the forefinger, will shit to reverse. Sunex ensured durability by using an all aluminum housing, for lightweight and strength. In addition, the handle has a rubber overlay to ensure comfort and ergonomics for the user.

Final Thoughts

Sunex definitely hit the mark with a small form factor, in size and weight, while still providing ample power for small to medium jobs. One drawback for us with the speed or power selection, hence it required two hands to change. Overall, for the features included, a price of less than $120 and a 2-year warranty, we recommend the Sunex mini impact wrench for your toolbox.
