Final Thoughts

The EURO 5200 paint gun is very ergonomic, weighing lighter than most other guns and it fits in your hand easily. This makes maneuvering around body panels a breeze. At a price of only $250, this is a great paint gun for that budget-minded painter. Once dialed in, the 5200 performs with those twice the cost. The EURO 5200 paint gun is available in 1.3, 1.4, 1.6, 1.8, and 2.1 mm nozzle sizes. We tested both the 1.3 and 1.4 mm nozzles on the 5200.

Paint guns don’t have to cost $800 to lay down a nice finish. MG Distributor has the EURO 5200 paint gun that we gave a whirl, and it costs only $250. Rob from Rob’s Auto Restoration Services helped us out by using the EURO 5200 on several different applications and jobs. From primer and sealers to single-stage and clear, and we even shot some different color metallic basecoats as well.

EURO 5200 Quality BuildOne of the most impressive features about the EURO 5200 can be recognized before pulling the trigger. Weight and ergonomics feel great in the hand. It’s light and more compact than most guns we’ve used. At the same time, it still feels like a quality gun. Fit finish on the EURO 5200 is impressive for a less expensive paint gun. The air cap and tip features are very well machined, as well as the body of the 5200.

Dialing in the flow of metallics was the toughest feat we ran into, which is typical with most guns. To get the metallics to flow uniform, and continue to do so, we had to tune on the fluid, air, and fan controls a bit. Once we found it and used it a few times, the EURO 5200 paint gun did very well. Single-stage paints and clearcoats flow easily and lay down nice. You can get the EURO 5200 with a 1.3, 1.4, 1.6, 1.8, or 2.1 mm tip. We used the 1.3 and 1.4 mm nozzles and were happy with the performance of both.

Final Thoughts

We were impressed with the performance from this $250 EURO 5200 paint gun. For anyone doing collision repair, this is a great gun for moving in and around small areas, such as wheel-wells and bumper covers. The lightness of the gun and the compact size don’t detract from it’s spraying ability either. While we wouldn’t equate this to an $800 paint gun, it’s definitely closer in performance than it is price. For the painter on a budget, we’d recommend the EURO 5200.  Check out the full video for more details. Click MG EURO 5200 Paint Gun if you’re interested in purchasing.
