NAVAC Cordless Vacuum Pump FI

It’s pretty typical today to work on engines and transmissions with all battery-powered tools. However, when it comes to areas like Air Conditioning, that’s another story. When’s the last time you saw a cordless vacuum pump. Well, that’s our story today, we’re looking at the NAVAC NP2DLM cordless vacuum pump.

NAVAC NP2DLM Cordless Vacuum Pump Features

This NAVAC NP2DLM is a 2CFM pump that pulls down to 23 microns. Power comes from an 18-volt 5Ah battery delivering up to 45 minutes of runtime. In our testing, we measured just more than 42-minutes of runtime, so we call that close enough. You get a 1/4″ and 3/8″ flare inlet port, and of course a ball valve. The NP2DLM vacuum pump with the 5Ah battery is only 8-inches tall and 10-inches long. It weighs in at 8-pounds 9-ounces.

1/4″ and 3/8″ Flare Inlet Ports

A simple on/off button starts and stops the vacuum motor. We didn’t measure the decibel level with a meter, but the NAVAC NP2DLM cordless vacuum pump is well under the 85 dBA 8-hour limit set by OSHA. When you press the power button, there’s second or two delay before the motor starts and the motor ramps up to speed. This soft-start technology helps to protect electronics and other moving parts.

Final Thoughts

We used the NAVAC cordless vacuum pump on our 1971 Oldsmobile 442 muscle car project. We just installed a new Vintage Air system in the car, so it was a brand new line system to test the NAVAC NP2DLM. It was quite impressive to see this tiny and quiet vacuum pump pull down the system within minutes. This seems like a great solution for the mobile mechanic or even an industrial mechanic working on heavy equipment in the field. The price will run a little north of $500, and you get the NP2DLM pump, 5Ah battery, charger, and nylon carrying case. Check them out at NAVAC Global.
