Mechanics, woodworkers, and most other workers in the trades need an impact wrench that they can count on. The Makita XDT14T impact driver does this and more. Even though this Makita impact only weighs 3.3 lbs and is less than 5-inches long, it still delivers 1550 in-lbs of torque. Plenty enough power to drive screws and lags. Furthermore, the twin 5.0 Ah batteries in the kit provide more than enough runtime for the full day.

Makita XDT14T Impact Driver Kit Features

Makita XDT14T Impact Driver Kit_16The Makita XDT14T delivers the power, and additional features improve performance for specific tasks. You choose from 3 speeds: 0-1100, 0-2100, and 0-3600 RPM. Impacts Per Minute (IPM) follow suit with 0-1100, 0-2600, and 0-3800. Creating this rotational force is a BL Brushless motor electronically controlled for max efficiency. Furthermore, the “T” mode (Tightening) allows for faster tightening of self-drilling screws, preventing damage to your workpiece and screws.

Prepared for the job site, the Makita XDT14T includes eXtreme Protection Technology (XPT) that Makita claims provides increased dust and water resistance. You get an all-metal gear housing for increased durability, and the Star Protection computer controls protect against overloading, over-discharging, and over-heating.

Dual LED lights, just below the chuck, shine directly on the fastening area, hence where you need it most. Rubber over-molded handle and head, in addition to the compact size and weight, make the Makita XDT14T a very ergonomic impact driver.

Final Thoughts on the Makita XDT14T

You can purchase the Makita XDT14T Impact Driver Kit at the Home Depot for about $300. The kit comes with two 5.0Ah LXT 18-volt Makita batteries, charger, and a hard plastic case. As a Pro, this is a great kit to get you in the brushless category. Makita delivers plenty of power with the XDT14, and they stand behind it with their 3-year warranty. Many Pros and DIYers will appreciate the 3-speeds and the T-mode. Others, like myself, will probably just enjoy the power and variable speed trigger of the XDT14T, providing infinite control of the power and RPM.
