Dimide Welding Clamps Review – Impact Wrench Ready

Dimide Welding Clamps

These new Dimide welding clamps are rated for use with an impact wrench, up to 400 ft-lbs. Dimide welding clamps are made in the USA and they deliver more than 7,000 pounds of clamping force. The Dimide #5 is a 5-inch clamp and sells for $99. Also available is the Dimide #8 clamp, which is an 8-inch clamp and sells for $129. Dimide is also taking early orders for their soon-to-be-released 12-inch clamp, with a price of $239 each.

We used our Milwaukee mid-torque impact wrench with the Dimide welding clamps. The ~400 ft-lbs of max force from the mid-torque was a perfect fit for using with these clamps. Using an impact provides more clamping force and also aids in speeding up repetitive clamping.

Dimide Welding Clamps Features

1/2" Hex Clamping RodThese Dimide clamps provide plenty of clamping load to keep your work secure, whether you’re welding, grinding, drilling, or sanding. The #5 Dimide clamp delivers 7,000 pounds of clamping load, and the #8 clamp provides more than 7,400 pounds of force. Try to match this with your old clamps. In addition to the increased clamping load, these Dimide clamps are also much faster, especially when used with an impact wrench. With a 13mm or 1/2″ socket, the clamps can go from fully open to fully closed in just a couple seconds. You not only save time, but it’s also less fatigue and work on your hands, cranking all those clamps down.

The jaws and main threaded clamping rod are made of copper to keep off as much welding spatter as possible. The copper jaws are square cubes, allowing the user to rotate the cube for the best hold. Two sides are flat for clamping any flat surfaces. Another side has a lateral v-groove down the middle which aids in clamping pipe, vertical flat-bar, or angle-iron. And yet another side has two v-grooves at 45-degree angles, crossing one another like an x-y axis (similar to an “X”).

Finally, the Dimide welding clamps are all designed and made in the USA. These clamps are rugged, fast and provide tons of clamping force – literally. If you routinely need clamps for securing work, such as grinding and welding, then we definitely recommend the Dimide welding clamps.
