We don’t normally take the time to review products that we see on late night infomercials. But, we’ve seen the ads for Flex Seal now for a few years, and you could color us captivated by a product that could supposedly allow us to seal up our leaky jon boat. As it happened, Tim Johnson had a can of it laying around, as well as a small leak repair project. Why not give the ol’ Flex Seal a shot?

Does Flex Seal Really Work?
Flex Seal is basically a can of liquid rubber that, when applied over cracks and seams, dries to form a watertight, flexible seal. The company makes some pretty bold claims about the integrity of the product, but all we really needed to do was stop up a leaky bowl.
“It’s like the Hoover Dam…in a can!”
-Phil Swift
Well, if a can of Flex Seal has enough sealing power to plug up a river’s worth of water, the tiny tin bowl we needed to repair shouldn’t present much of a challenge, right?
Anyway, a can of Flex Seal ought to run you about $13 bucks from any of the big box stores. If you’d like to see if it really works, watch Tim Johnson wrestle around with it in the video below.
