Diablo Cermet Circular Saw Blades

Diablo Cermet

If you like your circular saw, but wish it could handle more than just the light work, look no further than the new Diablo Cermet Steel Demon metal cutting circular saw blades. With these new blades, you can transform your circular saw into a metal cutting machine, blasting through even stainless steel. In fact, at Diablo’s presentation at the 2018 STAFDA event, we watched as they cranked out 50 cuts on 1-3/4″ stainless steel pipe, stopping on account of time (the blade still had plenty of life in it, they assured us). And, while the blades were pretty impressive to watch in action, the Diablo Cermet blades impressed us with some other notable qualities as well.

Diablo Cermet Steel Demon Design

Let’s start with the obvious feature. Diablo uses specially formulated Cermet teeth (ceramic and metallic) on this blade to increase the hardness and provide a high heat tolerance. This, coupled with tri-metal shock resistant brazing on the teeth, results in better impact resistance, which, in turn, ups the durability of the blade. Diablo is saying that these Cermet Steel Demon blades are lasting up to 5 times longer than standard carbide metal cutting saw blades.

Diablo also incorporated a triple chip tooth design and laser-cut stabilizer vents into the design of the new Steel Demon blades. Cutting with these blades results in improved efficiency and a more comfortable user experience. The Diablo Cermet blades produce fewer sparks, and they produce burr-free finishes that don’t require re-work. Cutting with the Steel Demon blades also produces less vibration, resulting in less noise and straighter cuts.

Another element of the Diablo design revolves around an overall reduction in resistance. Not only did Diablo opt for a laser-cut, thin kerf on these blades, but they’ve also incorporated a Perma-Shield non-stick coating to reduce heat build-up and corrosion.

The 7-1/4″ Diablo Cermet Steel Demon Circular Saw Blades will retail for $29.97. At the time of this publishing, they aren’t widely available yet, but we expect that to change any day now.
