Hart Tools recently launched its new line of tools which will be exclusively sold at Walmart. We’re not just talking about the launch of a few tools, this consists of more than 100 SKUs that will be sold by the retail giant. While not known by all, Hart Tools is a brand that has been around for many years but only as hand tools for trades. Hart is a division of Techtronic Industries (TTI) and up until now only manufactured hammers, tape measures, gloves, tile tools, etc. Times are a-changing.
HART Tools at Walmart Launch
Many of the Hart power tools and accessories have already hit the Walmart shelves, with the complete line available by the end of February 2020. To put this into perspective, this is the largest hardline launch that Walmart has ever done. Up until now, Walmart never had a tool line they could hang their hat on. With millions of people going through the doors of Walmarts every day, there’s a huge opportunity to capture tool sales from homeowners and DIYers alike.
We were invited to the initial launch of all the Hart products in New York and we thought we’d share all that excitement. If you follow us on social media, then you may have seen some of this already, but now we’re putting in one place.
Price-Point – HART at Walmart
It’s obvious and it makes total sense that the new Hart tool line needs to meet a certain price point to be effective in the Walmart stores and online. At the same time, they wanted to make sure they offer the buyer performance and a decent warranty. From the prices we saw, they’re for sure hitting the price point dead on.
Hart 20V drill and impact driver for $94, this is the brushed motor version. For just $178, you can get the 4pc combo kit with drill, impact driver, LED light, recip saw, and you get a 200-pc accessory kit as well. All of the power tools and batteries are backed by their 3-year warranty.
Hart’s accessory line is very impressive as well. You can choose from several different tape measures, pocket knife, razor knife, gloves, safety glasses and much more. Your Walmart tool shelves will soon be filled with these.
20V and 40V Hart Lawncare Tools
Hart and Walmart didn’t seem to leave any stone unturned in this new launch, including 20-volt and 40-volt powered lawn tools. You get a choice of 20v and 40v powered hedge trimmers, string trimmers, and blowers. Mowers will come in a 20″ and 21″ deck with either self-propelled or push. All 3 mower models will be powered by the 40-volt Hart system. The 40-volt battery platform will give you a bump up in power and runtime.
Hart Hand Tools and Tool Boxes
Hand tools and Hart have been around for a few years, but just not to this magnitude. Not only did Hart extend the line of their hand tools for this launch, but they’ve also included some really nice looking toolboxes and work carts. In addition to looking good, they also have some sought-after features like soft-close drawers and ball-bearing runners.
20-volt Brushed or Brushless – Choose Your Hart
With the price-shopper in mind and the potential upsell for the performance lover, Hart offers some tools in a brushed (cheaper) or brushless (high-performance) platform. In particular, the impact drivers and drills. Obviously, the brushed models will be a bit cheaper, while the brushless models will offer more power as well as have longer runtimes.
New Hart Battery Platform
At the heart of the Hart power tools is the new 20-volt battery packs. Techtronic Industries (TTI) said that when looking at unveiling a new line, they started with the battery. TTI is not new to the power tool world with brands like Milwaukee, Ryobi, and Ridgid power tools under their belt. They know a thing or two when it comes to cordless power tools, hence even more so the batteries that make them tick.
Many kits will include the 1.5Ah batteries, while some of the brushless combos will include the 2.0Ah battery packs. Users can also choose to step up to the 4.0Ah battery pack which also includes an onboard battery level indicator.
Lifestyle Tools at the Hart of it All
Fans, inflators, and LED lights may be the spark needed to ignite this Hart Tools at Walmart fire. These cross the chasm between DIY or Pro and any typical homeowner. Soccer moms, professional mechanics, and even welders suffer from flat tires from time to time. We all enjoy a cool wind blowing across our brow on a 90-degree summer day. Hart has some great solutions to these common problems.
The 20V tire inflator will fill a completely flat tire in less than 7 minutes and delivers up to 150 PSI. They also have a 20V Dual Function Inflator that will be hitting the market soon. This will offer high-pressure on one side with low-pressure on the other. Tires and footballs to air mattresses and pool floats.

Automotive Detailing, Power tools, and Hand Tools
The new Hart mechanics hand tools can fill a toolbox on their own. The DIY or shade-tree mechanic can stick with the brand and get their 1/2″ impact wrench, drill, and impact driver as well. They even have impact-rated sockets for the impact wrench. Also, all hand tools carry a lifetime warranty.
Also in the automotive world, Hart tools include two dual-action cordless polishers. One is a 10-inch dual action polisher and the other is a more compact 6-inch polisher. The 10-inch is available now, but the 6-inch will be available in February 2020.

Final Thoughts on Hart Tools at Walmart
We’re excited to see this launch and it makes perfect sense for both parties. Walmart has long needed a tool brand that is specific to them, while still offering a sense of trust. The tools aisles in Walmart have long been forgotten by most DIY and tool lovers. Hart may actually turn this around. We believe the prices are right and tools seem to still fit the performance needs. The lifestyle tools like tire inflators, fans, and led lights will play a big role in getting buy-in on the new platform from skeptical users.
