The Milwaukee M18 FUEL Metal Circular Saw (2782-22) brings brushless technology and better electronic intelligence to cut through metal faster than any other cordless metal-cutting saw, as claimed by Milwaukee. With an M18 REDLITHIUM XC5.0 battery, the tool provides 40% more cuts than other cordless metal-cutting circular saws available today. Testing showed up to 370 cuts in EMT. Available in April 2017, MSRP for the M18 FUEL metal-cutting saw will be $199 for the bare tool and $399 for the kit. The kit includes the bare tool (2782-20), two 5.0Ah batteries, multi-voltage charger, and a 30-tooth blade.

Milwaukee M18 FUEL Metal Circular Saw Features

One of the real game-changers in this mix is what Milwaukee calls their Powerstate brushless motor. This motor more efficiently produces power from the energy input, as well as prolonging the life of the tool. With more power and speed, the Milwaukee M18 FUEL metal circular saw minimizes bog-down, hence making cuts that other 18V cordless saws can’t. In addition, the lightweight housing and gearing is the same setup found in the proven Milwaukee corded circular saws.

Another key feature added to the M18 FUEL metal saw is the Redlink Plus intelligence. This allows the tool to communicate to the battery, and even the charger, hence providing overload protection, as well as overheating and over discharging. Adding in the mix the M18 Redlithium XC5.0 battery provides unmatched power with industry-leading run-time as well. The Milwaukee M18 FUEL metal circular saw and M18 Redlithium XC5.0 battery are compatible with the whole M18 line, which is now more than 125 tools strong.

This is not the first 18V metal-cutting circular saw for big red, as they previously had the 2682 metal saw. Milwaukee Tool is making the right call to bring their Powerstate brushless platform to their M18 FUEL metal-cutting saw. Also, adding the intelligence for overload protection and better charging is a plus as well. We are excited to get our hands on one, and get our pros testing. Time and testing will tell the tale if this is fastest cordless metal-cutting saw. We won’t be surprised if it is.
