Cutting with one hand has never been so easy. The new Milwaukee M18 FUEL Hackzall is a major step up from the original 18V Hackzall. With the FUEL brushless motor and updated electronics, the 2719-20 has more power and much less vibration.

Version one of the Hackzall lacked the power needed for the larger one-handed cutting needs, and the vibration was a killer. Later, Milwaukee reset the standard when they released the M12 FUEL Hackzall, however, it still left a void for larger cuts. Since the release of the M12 FUEL, everyone has been asking the same question. “Milwaukee, when are we getting the M18 FUEL Hackzall?” The time has now come.

We first saw the new Milwaukee M18 FUEL Hackzall at NPS17, and we have been waiting for it to hit the stores, and our shop. After cutting up 2x4s, hardwood, conduit, angle iron, and old car fenders, we’re impressed. Vibration is held to a minimum and power is plentiful with the M18 platform.

The Whole Picture

In addition to the Powerstate brushless motor and Red Lithium batteries, version II of the Hackzall has even more upgrades. The new pivoting shoe gives much better flexibility for cutting various shaped objects. Also, with a cutting stroke of 7/8″, you get more material removal with each pass of the blade. This also helps with blade life, as more teeth are engaging in the cutting process.

In the end, it’s no secret what the Hackzall is good for, one-handed cutting. This Milwaukee M18 Fuel Hackzall does this much better than the prior version I. The M18 2719-20 delivers with much more power, and we’re glad to see the lineup of the M12 and M18 Hackzall complete. At only $149 for the bare tool, we see this being a great value to your Milwaukee platform.

The Milwaukee M18 FUEL Hackzall is available at the Home Depot for just $149.
