FTC Disclosure Guidelines
Pro Tool Reviews is an established online magazine with reviewers and journalists—similar to Consumer Reports or Wired.com’s Gadget Lab—with paid staff and a reasonable expectation that products are either provided to reviewers or comped by manufacturers. While we aren’t really required to disclose how our products are obtained or what we do with them, we feel it’s important to be transparent about our interaction with tool manufacturers. It’s a reasonable assumption that a site dedicated to tool reviews, and which reviews dozens of products per month, must acquire those products to review. Given the fact that we don’t have a subscription-based model, and we review literally HUNDREDS of tools per year, we have chosen to operate under the auspices (consumer assumption) that manufacturers provide tools to us for review at no cost to us. Were this not the case, we’d have to a) charge a subscription fee to cover purchase costs for tools, and b) open up a fully-staffed return shipping department. We’d rather keep our site free to consumers and allocate resources to reviewing more products for our readers and then find ways to give away tools to local non-profit organizations or other entities. All of Pro Tool Reviews’ revenues come from advertisers.
Regardless of whether or not manufacturers supply the tools we review, we hope that, as a group of professionals, readers feel that our opinions are valid and as unbiased as they can be. This is born out in our content, breadth of reviews, and our in-depth methodologies.
Any specifically sponsored content on this site outside of reviews will be noted as such. We are fully compliant with the FTC Article16 CFR Part 255 which deals with the disclosure of endorsements and testimonials by personal bloggers.

We will not respond unless required to do so by law to any electronic mail (“e-mail”) which contains threatening, abusive, malicious, pornographic, obscene, defamatory or otherwise illegal or inappropriate material. We reserve the right to take such action as we in our sole discretion deem fit in respect of such material.
Unless you indicate to the contrary all e-mails received will be taken to be submitted, where appropriate, for publication, free of charge. If we decide to publish an e-mail from you on the Website we will incur no liability to you by doing so.
You agree that we have no control over third party content and information which can be accessed using the Website and that we do not examine or edit the use to which you or others put the Website or the nature of the content or information being accessed and that we are excluded from all liability of any kind arising from such content or information. You agree that except for death or personal injury arising through our negligence, we shall not be liable whatsoever for any loss or damage arising from use of the Website. You furthermore agree to indemnify us in the manner set out below in these terms in relation to your use in any way of the Website.

We take all such steps as are reasonably necessary to provide a fast and reliable service, but exclude to the fullest extent permitted by law any liability for the security of the services on the Website or for any disruption of the Website however caused, loss of or corruption of any material in transit, or loss of or corruption of material when downloaded onto any computer systems.
We provide the Website on an “as is” basis and make no representations or warranties of any kind as to the Website or the content. We make no representations or warranties about the accuracy, completeness or suitability for any purpose of the content published on the Website. Any liability, however it occurs, for any such inaccuracies or errors is expressly excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.
You agree to indemnify and hold us and any of our officers, employees and agents harmless from and against all and any expenses, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses of any character incurred or suffered and any claims or legal proceedings which are brought or threatened, in each case arising from your use of, or conduct on, the Website and/or a breach of the Acceptable Use Policy and/or any of these terms.
