Ryobi Cordless Rotary Tool – P460 18-volt One+ Review
We took a little different route on reviewing the Ryobi cordless rotary tool. In reality, the thought was that I would just be taking the Ryobi P460 rotary tool on vacation with my family to do some crafting during the boring times. When it came down to it, it ended up saving my pride on several occasions. This Ryobi rotary tool comes with a bunch of accessories and ready for business or play. I didn’t think this was a tool that would end up in a Pro’s arsenal. However, it just may.
Ryobi Cordless Rotary Tool Features
Powered by the 18-volt One+ platform, the Ryobi P460 will accept any 18V battery that Ryobi ever produced. Instead of a rotary tool, the P460 seems more like a rotary station. All the accessories have their place right on the top of the tool. You can use the tool flat on the desktop, or you can hang it on the wall with the wand hanging down.
Another Great Review: Ryobi 18V Grease Gun
A simple on/off power switch sits atop the Ryobi cordless rotary tool, and the speed dial is located to the left. The speed dial allows you to select variable speeds from 5,000 to 34,000 RPM. The rotary wand includes a spindle lock, just slide the lock back then use the included tool loosen the collet nut. It accepts 1/8″ collet accessories.
Just during one week, we had to use the P460 Ryobi cordless rotary tool for cutting the lock off a boat trailer, modifying a carb bracket, drilling, and sanding a carb float. This is a great supplementary tool for doing various work and having some fun. It also doesn’t break the bank. You can purchase the cordless rotary tool as a bare tool for just $69, or you can choose to buy it as a kit with the 1.5Ah battery for just $99 from The Home Depot.
