For added safety, both models follow strict guidelines and electrical requirements to be certified by the CSA Group.  When you change the alloys and substrates that you are drilling, then the speed of the drill-bit most likely should change.  JET has made it easy to change spindle speeds rapidly due to the hinged belt and pulley cover along with the quick adjustable motor mount.  Large hand grips were designed with comfort and ergonomics in mind to reduce fatigue on the operator and provide better control.
