G0819 Wide Belt Sander Features

Pneumatic controls handle the belt tension and belt tracking for precise and easy adjustments. Motor controls allow for independent adjustment of the conveyance of wood (material) and the actual sanding belt motor. The included amp meter allows the user to monitor and control power output. Two rubber rollers apply pressure for uniform sanding.

The thickness scale on the Grizzly G0819 15-inch wide belt sander goes both ways, including inches and the metric counterparts. A 5-inch dust port allows for the extracting all the sanding remnants, or most of them. Also, the 1-3/4″ x 15-3/8″ graphite platen aids in mitigating friction.

Final Words

It seems that Grizzly continues to not only launch new machines, but also improve on others. We feel this would be a great wide belt for the growing shop, needing their first wide belt sander. Last year we touched on the Grizzly G9983 15-inch Wide Belt Sander, which seems to have the same footprint with different features. Also, the Shop Fox W1813 18-inch Open End Wide Belt Sander offers a little more capacity for a shop as well.

The Grizzly 15-inch wide belt sander open end G0819 comes in a little less than $5k, which is cheaper than other units in the class, but not the cheapest. There are some great features on this small footprint Grizzly G0819, like the separate motor controls, safety bar and pneumatic belt controls.
