The Jet JWL-1221VS variable speed wood lathe has a spindle speed that ranges from 60–3,600 RPM. The headstock the Jet JWL-1221VS allows a swing of  12-1/2″ over the bed and 20-1/2″ between centers, while the tailstock quill has 2-1/4″ of travel. Both the headstock and tailstock have 2MT Morse tapers, and the headstock spindle is threaded to accept an M33 x 3.5 chuck. The drive pulley on the Jet JWL-1221VS has 24 indexing positions with a twist-lock system for securing everything in place during each operation.

In addition, the Jet JWL-1221VS variable speed wood lathe also offers a much wider bed than is normal for a mini lathe. The new bed size provides enough space for the tool rest base and locking footprint. Both ends of Jet JWL-1221VS come equipped with metal tool and cable storage racks as well as a metal mesh tray located between the legs. Also, the lathe comes with live center, spur center, spindle wrench, knockout rod, 2 tool caddies, 4 button head screws (5/16″ x 1/2″), 2 tool supports (6” and 10”), and 3” face plate.
