The 6-pawl design is very interesting, and doesn’t seem to lose integrity, while still offering 216 different positions in a rotation. We tear one down for you to see, as well as we test for strength and bite. Best of all, they are made in the USA.
SK X-Frame Ratcheting Wrenches Features
In addition to the ratcheting end, SK also added some gripping technology on the open-end as well. The Sure Grip technology on the open end allows the wrench to bite on the sides of the bolt/nut, not the points or tips. In our testing, we could actually see the bite marks on the grade-8 bolt. With only a small turn of the wrench, the user engages the fastener for another turn. The SK X-Frame ratcheting wrenches offer durability and strength with their I-beam design, hence no twisting or bending or twisting can be felt in the wrench, even under load.
