High Bay LED Shop Light Features
These LANGY UFO High Bay LED Shop Lights were a huge upgrade compared to the 8-foot LED strip lights that we previously installed. Even though the old lighting was sufficient, many of the LED strips were starting to fail. These new High Bay LED lights, LANGY claims a 50,000-hour life. That’s over 20 years in our book. I think we can live with that.
Don’t miss our LED Lights for Mechanics video.
Each light is less than 12-inches in diameter and they deliver up to 21,000 LUMENS. The entire LED light framework is a huge aluminum heatsink. Even the driver/electrical housing includes fins and is built with aluminum. This should really help with heat dissipation. Each light pulls 150 Watts, which equates to 1.25 Amps at 120 Volts. Installing twelve of these LED lights in our shop can be done on one single 20A circuit. With the lights installed properly, the 5000K light disperses a 120-degree cone, and overlapping is recommended.
Each light comes packaged with a closed ring that threads into the aluminum body of the light. Once the ring is threaded in, a Phillips screw can be tightened into the ring. Also provided is an aircraft-style securing wire loop. Once the light is mounted, use the wire loop to provide additional security to mitigate a falling light.
In the end, there’s no miracle lighting. The more space you have, the more lighting and lights you need. Not only do you have to figure for your floor space (sqft), but you also need to calculate height as well (cubic ft). These LANGY UFO High Bay LED lights are a great solution, but we first intended to only use 8 lights. This would have been a big mistake, We’ve now installed 12 LED High Bay lights, and we still needed supplement lighting. You can get these lights for $68 ea on Amazon, or you can get a 4-pack for $225. They also include a 5-year warranty.
