Rikon 10 Inch Pro Cabinet Saw First Look – Model 11-300

Rikon 10 Inch Pro Cabinet Saw

As the product output grow in size and quantity in a woodworking shop, so does the need for a better table saw. Many of us made do with a portable table saw, then we may have even built a cabinet for the portable saw, larger table, etc. Stretching the output of the saw far beyond it’s capabilities. Face it, it’s time to upgrade. You may want to have a good look at the Rikon 10 inch pro cabinet saw – model 11-300.

Rikon 10 Inch Pro Cabinet SawRikon continues to expand their products into a respectable lineup of professional woodworking power tools, and more. We also wrote about the Rikon 10-325 14-inch Deluxe Bandsaw a few months back, so check it out. With the Rikon 10 inch pro cabinet saw, you get an industrial quality 3 HP motor powering a 10″ blade. The table size of the Rikon 11-300 is 56-1/4″ x 27, so you get a decent table already, without any additional work.

Rikon 10 Inch Pro Cabinet Saw Features

The 10″ blade is belt-driven from the 3 HP motor, hence the Rikon 11-300 delivers smooth power and little to no bogging. The 3HP motor requires 240V of power and draws up to 13 Amps. With the included 10-inch 40-tooth carbide blade, blade speed is 3,450 RPM.

Cutting accuracy comes from a quick-lock rip fence and calibrated rail system. This rip fence looks like something from an industrial machine, made very sturdy and built to last. Using the included table only, the rip capacity for the Rikon 10 Inch pro cabinet saw is 30″ to the right of the blade. To the left of the blade, the user can still get 13-1/2″ rip capacity.

Maximum depth for a 90° cut is 3-3/8″, while the max for a 45° cut is only 2-1/4″ deep. There are two “T” slots in the table for using the miter gauge on either side of the blade. Up to a 13/16″ Dado can be cut with the Rikon 11-300, and the height of the table is 35″, from the floor.

Non-Mobile

As the Rikon 10 inch pro cabinet saw name implies, this is built to be an in-place saw. Rikon makes the less-powerful 11-200 that includes casters, however this Rikon 11-300 is made to stay-put. A rugged steel cabinet keeps the saw secure and sturdy, as well as provides a place to store the rip fence and wrenches. The additional weight of this stationary cabinet and the machined cast iron table aids in reducing vibration from the motor and blade.

Rikon Pro Cabinet Saw 3HP-MotorRikon doesn’t forget Safety-first either. A blade guard with anti-kickback pawls and riving knife help mitigate the woodworker accidentally hitting the blade on the Rikon 10 inch pro cabinet saw. To make shutdown easy, a large front paddle “OFF” switch allows the user to hit this with their hand or knee. Also included with the Rikon 11-300 is a push stick, and a 4″ dust port allows for some serious dust extraction.

Final Thoughts

It’s exciting to see Rikon building more and more tools for the workshop and woodworking shop. We anticipate seeing bigger stuff in the near future from Rikon, maybe something that rivals the 14-Inch Grizzly G0764Z Sliding Table Saw Adding a true 10″ stationary cabinet saw to there lineup may open the window for more opportunity. We really like the cast-iron table, as well as the quick-lock rip fence and 3HP power. Our hopes are to get one of these in the shop for review soon, so we can report on our actual experience.
