Worklights, it’s hard to get by without them, even in the daytime. The Monster MST10175 foldable LED worklight provides tremendous light output, while still being cordless and rechargeable. With the Chips On Board (COB) lighting panel, the Monster MST10175 brightens the darkest of engine compartments, so the technician can stay out of the dark.
Where We Started
I remember my Dad’s worklight, or drop-light as we called it. It had an incandescent bulb that would break the filament if you just looked at it wrong. Any sudden bump or the slightest drop, and you were looking for the light bulbs. The first family of LED worklights arrived to eliminate the problem with broken bulbs. Unfortunately the version 1 of LEDs failed miserably in the light-output department. Finally, demand for better products has forced engineers and manufactures to improve on the Light Emmiting Diode (LED), hence we now have products like the Monster MST10175 foldable LED worklight.
Monster MST10175 Foldable LED Worklight Features
The Monster LED uses a 1200mAh Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery to provide up to 3 hours of run time. A 180-degree rotating bracket enables the light to stand in vertical and near-vertical positions. Technicians can choose seven different positions from the rotating bracket. In addition, a magnet at the bottom of said bracket allows the technician to mount the MST10175 easily to most metallic surfaces.
Two hidden hooks give the user access to hang the LED worklight from either end. Also, two magnets located on the back of the light allows the MST10175 to attach to metal on the backside. This position projects the light directly away from the mount location, such as stuck to the hood, shining light on the engine bay.
The COB (chips on board) lighting panel features multiple LED chips packaged together as one lighting module. On one end of the unit, a single LED projects light much like a flash-light. The main light on front of the MST10175 provides more than 250 lm or 1,500 lux from this handheld LED worklight. Simple USB charging maximizes a charge in three to four hours.
The body of the MST10175 made from a crack-resistant plastic covered in a rubberized satin coating, feels very comfortable to the touch. The power button can be easily engaged with the the thumb or forefinger, depending on how the user holds the light. Hooks, magnets and folding bracket make for easy mounting or hanging of the Monster worklight. A broad head allows the ultra-clear lens of the light to cast a wider beam; therefore, more light emitting on the work area.
With the Monster MST10175 foldable LED worklight, technicians complete their work faster. Users carry the worklight to their job area, push the single button to light the area of need, get their work done and get out. All this without having to pull a cord or plugin for power. With a MSRP or less than $63, the Monster MST10175 makes a great option for a cordless handy worklight.
